This Privacy Policy explains what information MooseHost collects, how we use it, and who we share it with.
1. Information we collect
- Account information: name, email address, and billing address you provide when you register.
- Payment information: handled directly by our payment processor, Stripe. We don't receive or store your full card number.
- Service and support data: the games/plans you purchase, support tickets you open, and configuration you set on your game server.
- Technical information: IP address and basic device/browser information, mainly used for account security (for example, notifying you of a new login) and abuse prevention.
2. How we use your information
- To create and manage your account and game servers
- To process payments and send billing-related communications
- To provide support when you contact us
- To send account security notifications (like a new-login alert) and service-related emails (like server setup instructions)
- To keep the platform secure and prevent abuse
We don't sell your personal information.
3. Who we share it with
We share information with a small number of service providers we rely on to run MooseHost:
- Stripe — payment processing
- Postmark — transactional email delivery (account, billing, and server-related emails)
- The infrastructure that runs your game server (our own systems) — necessary to actually provision and operate the service you purchased
We don't share your information with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
4. Cookies
We use a small number of essential cookies to keep you logged in and to remember your shopping cart between pages. We don't use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
5. Data retention
We keep account and billing information for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterward as needed for legal, tax, and accounting purposes. Game server data is deleted when a service is cancelled and its retention window (shown at cancellation) has passed.
6. Your choices
You can review and update most of your account information yourself. To request a copy of your data or to request that we delete your account, open a ticket at moosehost.net/tickets/create and we'll handle it directly — we're a small team, so this is currently a manual process rather than a self-service export/delete button.
7. Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No system is completely secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.
8. Children's privacy
MooseHost is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make a material change, we'll post the update here with a new "last updated" date.
