Terms of Service

Last updated: August 11, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of MooseHost ("MooseHost", "we", "us", "our"), a game server hosting service. By creating an account or purchasing a service from us, you agree to these Terms.

1. Who we are

MooseHost is a small, US-based game server hosting provider currently operating in closed beta. We host dedicated game servers (currently Minecraft — Paper and Forge, Terraria, Holdfast: Nations At War, Valheim, and Project Zomboid) on infrastructure we manage directly.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, to create an account and purchase services. If you are under that age, a parent or legal guardian must create and manage the account on your behalf.

3. Your account

You're responsible for keeping your account and game server panel credentials secure, and for all activity that happens under your account. Let us know right away if you believe your account has been compromised.

4. Payment and billing

Services are billed in advance on a recurring basis (typically monthly) through our payment processor, Stripe. We don't store your full card details ourselves. If a payment fails, your service may be suspended and, after a grace period, cancelled.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to use MooseHost services to:

  • Host or distribute illegal content, or violate any applicable law
  • Attack, disrupt, or gain unauthorized access to other systems or networks
  • Deliberately overload shared infrastructure or interfere with other customers' services
  • Violate the terms of service or end-user license agreement of the game software you're running
  • Resell or sublicense the service without our prior written consent

We may suspend or terminate a service that violates this section, with notice where practical.

6. Service availability

We work to keep services online and performant, but we don't guarantee uptime and don't currently offer a service-level agreement or uptime credits. As a small, growing operation, planned maintenance or unexpected issues can occasionally affect availability.

7. Your content and data

You retain ownership of the game worlds, configurations, and other content you upload to your server. You're responsible for keeping your own backups of anything you can't afford to lose, in addition to any automated backups we provide as part of your plan.

8. Cancellation and termination

You may cancel your service at any time from your account. We may suspend or terminate a service for violation of these Terms, non-payment, or abuse of shared infrastructure. See our Refund Policy for how billing is handled around cancellation.

9. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

Services are provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, MooseHost's total liability for any claim related to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months before the claim arose. We're not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including lost data, to the extent permitted by law.

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make a material change, we'll post the updated Terms here with a new "last updated" date. Continuing to use the service after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Oregon, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles.
